The Velocity 6-weight - this line weight is the one by which all rod companies are judged; the ‘flagship’ of the series and the most universal in application. We wanted a rod that could perform under the widest range of conditions - from making tight bow-and-arrow casts into overgrown backwaters to shooting 90ft deliveries at lake smelters, yet still have the lightness of touch to drop a #20 dry fly gently and accurately to large, wary, river Browns. Above all we wanted a light, crisp fast-action rod that could form razor-sharp loops to punch into a Tasmanian gale, yet still retain the feel, control and sensitivity to work a team of dead-drifting nymphs. The Innovator designers not only met the challenge but were able to produce a rod weighing in at under 3 ounces! At just 2-7/8oz (81.5g), the Velocity 6-weight delivers outstanding performance.
